§59-508.2. Reinstatement on application of person whose license is

A. At any time after the expiration of twelve
(12)months from the date the license of any person to practice medicine or surgery has been revoked with right to reapply, or at any time after the expiration of six
(6)months from the date the license of any person to practice medicine or surgery has been suspended by the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, such person whose license has been so revoked or suspended may file an application with the secretary of the Board, together with an application fee set by the Board, to reinstate the license. A licensee who has had a license revoked, suspended or who has surrendered a license in lieu of prosecution shall not be reinstated and no probation shall be lifted unless the licensee has paid all fines and reimbursements in a manner satisfactory to the Board.
B. The application shall be assigned for hearing at the next regular meeting of the Board following the filing thereof. In addition, the Board may authorize the secretary to hold a hearing on the application at any time. In such cases, the Board shall have the authority and right to reconsider the order and decision of revocation or suspension.
C. For such causes and reasons deemed by it sufficient and for the best interest of the medical profession and the citizens of this state, the Board may reinstate a license of an applicant and issue the order therefor.
D. The Board may negotiate with the licensee a plan of repayment for any fines or other costs that is satisfactory to the Board. Added by Laws 1943, p. 135, § 2, emerg. eff. March 24, 1943.
