§52-308. Plugging.

The owner or manager shall not permit any well drilled for oil, gas, salt water disposal or any other purpose in connection with the production of oil and gas, through a workable coal seam to remain unplugged after such well is no longer used for the purpose for which it was drilled or converted. Each such well plugged shall protect the workable coal seam by a cement plug extending twenty- five
(25)feet above said coal seam to a distance of twenty-five
(25)feet below the same or the bottom of the hole, whichever is less. Added by Laws 1955, p. 255, § 4.
