The twenty-fifth of March of each year is hereby designated as “Medal of Honor Day”, and the Governor is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation honoring Oklahomans, while serving as a member of the Armed Services, distinguishes himself or herself conspicuously by gallantry at the risk of his or her life above and beyond the call of duty engaged in action against any enemy of the United States. All citizens of this state are requested to devote some portion of Oklahoma’s Medal of Honor Day to recognize the recipients of the Medal of Honor. Added by Laws 2006, c. 35, § 1, emerg. eff. April 13, 2006.
