No public utility owned by any municipality, as defined in Section 35-201 of this title, shall be sold, conveyed, leased or otherwise disposed of by the municipal governing body unless such sale, lease, conveyance, or other disposal of such utility shall be authorized by the vote of a majority of the registered voters of the municipality voting on the question at an election to be held for such purpose. Laws 1977, c. 256, § 35-202, eff. July 1, 1978.
