(A)If the state cosmetology and barber board adopts a continuing education requirement under section 4713.09 of the Revised Code, it may develop a procedure by which an individual who holds a license to practice a branch of cosmetology, advanced license, or instructor license and who is not currently engaged in the practice of the branch of cosmetology or teaching the theory and practice of the branch of cosmetology, but who desires to be so engaged in the future, may apply to the board to have the individual's license classified inactive. If the board develops such a procedure, an individual seeking to have the individual's license classified inactive shall apply to the board on a form provided by the board and pay the fee established by rules adopted under section 4713.08 of the Revised Code.
(B)The board shall not restore an inactive license until the individual holding the license submits proof satisfactory to the board that the individual has completed the continuing education that a rule adopted under section 4713.08 of the Revised Code requires.
