NRS 392.167 Petition for court order permitting enrollment of child under name other than name appearing on birth certificate or other identifying document. A parent or guardian who has legal custody of a child may petition the appropriate district court for an order directing the board of trustees of a school district or the governing body of a charter school to enroll that child in a public school within that district under a name other than the name which appears in the identifying document or records required by subsection 1 of NRS 392.165 .
Except as otherwise provided by specific statute, the court shall issue the order if it determines that to do so would be in the best interests of the child.
