NRS 391.115 Consideration of military education, training or occupational experience. [Effective July 1, 2026.]
1. If a person who is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States or a veteran of the Armed Forces of the United States submits an application for employment in a school district for a position that requires certain training, experience, certification or licensure in a skilled trade, the school district must consider any military education, training or occupational experience listed on a Joint Services Transcript or a similar document, including, without limitation, certification as an instructor in the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program, as credit towards any such required training, experience, certification or licensure.
2. As used in this section, “certification as an instructor in the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program” means any form of certification as an instructor in the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program set forth in 10 U.S.C. §§ 2031 et seq. issued by any department of the Armed Forces of the United States, including, without limitation, a temporary, provisional or advanced certification.
