52:27D-43.14. Advisory commission on the status of women

The New Jersey Advisory Commission on the Status of Women shall consist of 11 citizen members each of whom shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, for 3 years and until his or her successor is appointed and qualified, except that of those first appointed four each should be appointed for a term of 3 years, four each for a term of 2 years, and three each for a term of 1 year. Each vacancy caused by other than expiration shall be filled for the unexpired term only.
The members of the commission shall be persons who represent varying racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, age groups, occupations, and geographical locations and shall include persons who represent the interests of Statewide women's organizations. A chairperson shall be appointed by the Governor. Other officers of the commission shall be elected from among the members by the members for a term of 2 years.
