52:27-45.11. Execution and delivery of new warrants

A registered holder of any warrant issued by any municipality in accordance with said act desiring a warrant or warrants of different denomination or denominations shall request in writing the issuance of such new warrant or warrants, stating the denomination or denominations desired, and file such request with the chief financial officer of the municipality. When any such request is so filed, said financial officer of the municipality shall cause a warrant or warrants of like tenor and effect as those originally issued to be prepared, of the denomination or denominations requested by the registered holder of the warrant or warrants originally issued, but not exceeding in aggregate the amount of the warrants originally issued and referred to in said request.
Said new warrant or warrants shall be executed in the same manner as the warrants originally issued, by the persons holding the offices of the officers who originally executed the outstanding warrants. When a new warrant or warrants have been prepared and executed, the same shall be delivered by said financial officer of the municipality to the registered holder of the warrant or warrants originally issued upon surrender of such warrants originally issued, which shall thereupon be cancelled.
The municipality shall be permitted to make a reasonable charge for such services as rendered.
