13. If a carnival-amusement ride was manufactured prior to the effective date of P.L.2001, c.166 or the type certification for the ride is not renewed by the manufacturer or is revoked by the department, then the ride shall not be operated, installed or used in this State unless the owner or operator has obtained a carnival-amusement ride individual approval from the department. No ride not having a type certification or supplemental modification certification shall be modified unless the owner or operator has provided the information required by section 12 of P.L.1975, c.105 (C.5:3-42) and the owner or operator of the ride has obtained an individual approval for the ride as modified.
Information required by the department regarding any ride shall be provided by a licensed professional engineer or other qualified person acceptable to the department.
