12. Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in P.L.2001, c.221 (C.5:12-173.9 et al.), the authority may sponsor a district project which meets the criteria of paragraphs
(1)and
(2)of subsection a. of section 4 of P.L.2001, c.221 (C.5:12-173.12), and in that event, paragraphs
(3)and
(4)of subsection a. of section 4 of P.L.2001, c.221 (C.5:12-173.12) are not applicable to the authority and the grants otherwise payable to a casino licensee pursuant to paragraphs
(1)and
(2)of subsection b. of section 7 and paragraph
(1)of subsection b. of section 8 of P.L.2001, c.221 (C.5:12-173.15 and 5:12-173.16) shall be payable to the authority.
