48:3-33 Service dogs permitted on bus, public utility.

Any person who is blind or deaf-blind, accompanied by a dog, known and described as a "seeing-eye dog," any person who is deaf or hard of hearing, accompanied by a dog, known and described as a "hearing ear dog," any person with a disability, accompanied by a dog, known and described as a "service dog," or any person who is blind or deaf-blind, deaf or hard of hearing, or with a disability accompanied by a service dog trained by a recognized training agency or school, when riding on any bus or other public utility, as defined in R.S. 48:2-13, engaged in transportation of passengers, may keep such animal in his or her immediate custody.
The Board of Public Utilities shall prescribe rules and regulations concerning such custody.
