19. a. (Deleted by amendment, P.L.2003, c.18).
b. Upon payment to the board of a fee and the submission of a written application on forms provided by it, the board may issue without examination a temporary license to practice physical therapy or act as a physical therapist assistant in this State to a person who is qualified, in the judgment of the board, to practice as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant, and who provides evidence that he is in the State on a temporary basis to assist in a medical emergency or to engage in a special project, teaching assignment or other activity approved by the board relating to physical therapy practice.
A temporary license shall expire one year from its date of issue, however, it may be renewed by the board for an additional one-year period. A temporary license shall be surrendered to the board upon its expiration.
