45:5A-12. Examinations; notice

The board shall prescribe the conditions of examination of, and subject to the provisions of this act, shall give examinations to all persons who are, under the provisions of this act, required to take such examinations. The scope of such examination shall cover such matters as the provisions of nationally recognized electrical installation safety standards and the theoretical and practical application of the same encountered in electrical work. It shall hold a minimum of 4 examinations each year at such time and or place within the State as the board shall designate.
Public notice shall be given of the time and place of all examinations. In the conduct of the examination the board shall prescribe a standard form of examination which may be revised from time to time as circumstances require. Said examinations shall give ample opportunity for all applicants to be thoroughly and carefully examined, may be written or practical, or both, and shall be supervised by 3 or more of the examiners, but no license shall be granted except by the board.
