43:13-22.7. Annual meeting of commission; officers; duties; attorney; actuary

The commission shall hold its annual meeting in the month of January in each year and elect its chairman and such other officers as it deems advisable. The chairman shall be chosen from among the employee members of the commission. The commission shall fix the compensation of all appointees, and shall serve without compensation but shall be reimbursed for any necessary expenditures authorized by the commission; and the employee members shall suffer no loss of salary or other wages through service for or on the commission.
The commission shall secure the services of such physician or physicians as shall be necessary to make the medical examinations required by this act. The commission shall appoint an attorney and an actuary for the said commission and shall fix their compensation. The commission may engage such independent actuarial assistance as may be necessary to assist the actuary from time to time.
