40:23-6.23. Distribution of federal surplus food commodities; contracts for sharing cost

Every board of chosen freeholders is authorized to enter into a contract or contracts with the municipalities within such county for sharing the cost of distribution by such municipalities, of Federal surplus food commodities to the recipients of old age assistance, permanent and total disability assistance, and blind assistance on the rolls of the county welfare board of such county, resident in such municipalities, upon such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon between such board of chosen freeholders and such municipality or municipalities.
Such board of chosen freeholders may designate the county welfare board of its county as agent for the purpose of negotiating and carrying out the terms of such contract or contracts.
