11. In addition to utilizing any State-appropriated funding that supports Regional Health Hubs, the Commissioner of Human Services shall apply for such State plan amendments or waivers as may be necessary to implement the provisions of this act, and to secure federal financial participation for State Medicaid expenditures under the federal Medicaid program, and shall take such additional steps as may be necessary to secure, on behalf of participating Regional Health Hubs, such waivers, exemptions, or advisory opinions to ensure that such Regional Health Hubs are in compliance with applicable provisions of State and federal law related to fraud and abuse, including, but not limited to, anti-kickback, self-referral, false claim, and civil monetary penalty provisions.
