26:6-9 Death occurring without medical attendance.

In case of any death occurring without medical attendance, the funeral director shall notify the Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner or the office of the county or intercounty medical examiner, or the local registrar. In case the local registrar shall be notified, he shall immediately inform the county or intercounty medical examiner and refer the case to him for investigation. The county or intercounty medical examiner or assistant county or intercounty medical examiner shall furnish the funeral director with the necessary data and last sickness particulars to make the death certificate, or shall enter the information directly into the NJ-EDRS.
