Repayment Compromises, Modifications and Other Determinations Made by Authority.
The authority may, with respect to the exercise of its functions related to loans guaranteed by it under this article, to the extent consistent with 20 U.S.C.s.1071 et seq. and notwithstanding the provisions of any other law to the contrary:
a. consent to the modification, with respect to rate of interest, time of payment of principal or interest or any portion thereof, or other provisions of any note, or any instrument securing a loan which has been guaranteed by the authority;
b. authorize payment or compromise, subject to the approval or approvals required under the authority's write off and compromise procedures, of any claim upon or arising as a result of any such guaranty; and
c. authorize payment, compromise, waiver or release, of any debt, right, title, claim, lien or demand, however acquired, including any equity or right of redemption, and the waiver or release of any debt, right, title, claim, lien or demand including any equity or right of redemption shall be sufficient if executed by the executive director or designee on behalf of the authority. The register or county clerk of any county and the clerk of any court is hereby authorized to cancel of record any lien, including, but not limited to, judgments, chattel mortgages and conditional sales agreements whenever the document evidencing the cancellation or request for cancellation is signed by the executive director or designee on behalf of the authority.
The register and the clerk of any county are authorized to record any documents of the authority signed by the executive director or designee.
