The commissioner shall fix the terms of office and compensation of the supervisor and other members of the child study team. Their salaries shall be paid as other State salaries are paid by warrants drawn by the Director of the Division of Budget and Accounting on the State Treasurer, on orders issued by the commissioner. All claims for expenses of the supervisor, for each county in which he shall serve, shall be paid after being audited by the county superintendent on orders issued by the county superintendent and drawn on the county treasurer.
Notwithstanding any other provision of the law, the State shall reimburse each county no more than $750.00 for the expenses of the supervisor in any 1 year. All claims for expenses of the supervisor which exceed the sum of $750.00 shall be paid by the county.
