2. A health service corporation shall offer to provide group contracts covering audiology and speech-language pathology services rendered by a physician or a licensed audiologist or licensed speech-language pathologist where these services are determined to be medically necessary and are performed or rendered within the scope of practice. Notwithstanding this option for group contracts, all group health insurance contracts shall retain current coverage for audiology and speech-language pathology services.
Any reimbursement to licensed audiologists and speech-language pathologists for audiology and speech-language pathology services shall be provided to the same extent that the contract authorizes payment for these services to physicians licensed to practice medicine and surgery.
