The adjutant general shall establish and operate the North Dakota national guard service member, veteran, family, and survivor support program. The adjutant general may accept and expend funds from the North Dakota national guard foundation or any similar foundation, offered or tendered, for the benefit of the North Dakota national guard service member, veteran, family, and survivor support program. There is a special fund known as the North Dakota national guard service member, veteran, family, and survivor support fund.
All moneys received and accepted from the North Dakota national guard foundation or any similar foundation under this section must be deposited in the fund, and are appropriated on a continuing basis to the adjutant general to be used for the North Dakota national guard service member, veteran, family, and survivor support program. The expenditures from the fund may not exceed five hundred thousand dollars per biennium unless approved by the emergency commission and the budget section.
Annually the adjutant general shall report to the budget section regarding the income and expenditures made from this fund.
