§ 62-280. Household goods carrier; marking or identification of vehicles.
(a)No carrier of household goods shall operate any motor vehicle upon a highway, public street, or public vehicular area within the State in the transportation of household goods for compensation in violation of the provisions of G.S. 20-398.
(b)The Utilities Commission may assess a civil penalty not in excess of five thousand dollars ($5,000) for the violation of subsection
(a)of this section. The clear proceeds of any civil penalties collected pursuant to this subsection shall be remitted to the Civil Penalty and Forfeiture Fund in accordance with G.S. 115C-457.2. (2011-244, s. 2.)
