§ 127A-45.1. North Carolina National Guard Governor's Unit Citation.
There is hereby created the North Carolina National Guard Governor's Unit Citation which shall be a streamer, a unit emblem, and a certificate, all of appropriate design as approved by the Governor or the Governor's designee. The Governor or the Governor's designee is authorized to present the unit citation, upon recommendation of the Adjutant General, subject to the approval of the Secretary, to any unit of North Carolina National Guard distinguishing itself by extraordinary heroism or meritorious service while in a State active duty status.
The unit must display such gallantry, determination, and esprit de corps in accomplishing its mission under conditions which set it apart and above other units. (1977, c. 229, s. 1; 2009-281, s. 1; 2011-195, s. 1(a).)
