§ 122C-212. Discharges.
(a)Except as provided in subsection
(b)of this section, an individual who has been voluntarily admitted to a facility shall be discharged upon the individual's own request. A request for discharge from a 24-hour facility shall be in writing.
(b)An individual who has been voluntarily admitted to a 24-hour facility may be held for 72 hours after the individual's written application for discharge is submitted. (1973, c. 723, s. 1; c. 1084; 1983, c. 383, s. 4; 1985, c. 589, s. 2; 2018-33, s. 13.)
