81-9-116 . Officers' authority concerning enforcement -- seizure and sale of meat held in violation. An officer having authority to make the inspection provided for in this part may enter into and inspect meat establishments required to be licensed under 81-9-201 or places where meat is handled in quantities, for the purpose of determining whether the provisions of this part have been complied with. All seized meat must be sold under the direction of a stock inspector, sheriff, or other officer authorized, at either public or private sale, for the best price obtainable, and the proceeds must be paid to the county treasurer of the county in which the meat is seized for the benefit of the general fund of the county.
