71-3-705 . Destruction of records -- when allowed.
(1)All seed liens filed for record in the office of any county clerk and recorder must be retained by the county clerk in a file kept for that purpose for a period of 8 years from the time when the seed lien has ceased to be a lien on the property described in the lien.
(2)Upon the expiration of the period of time specified in subsection (1), the county clerk and recorder may destroy all seed liens that have been preserved for the period of time specified in this section, upon approval by the local government records destruction subcommittee provided for in 2-6-1202 .
