61-8-378 . Low-speed electric vehicle -- golf cart operated by person with low-speed restricted driver's license -- operating requirements.
(1)A low-speed electric vehicle may be operated only by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license.
(2)A low-speed electric vehicle or golf cart operated by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license may be operated only on a highway for which the posted speed limit does not exceed 25 miles per hour.
(3)A low-speed electric vehicle or golf cart operated by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license may not cross a highway with a posted speed limit of greater than 45 miles per hour.
(4)Except as provided in subsections
(1)through (3), the provisions of this chapter apply to a low-speed electric vehicle or golf cart operated by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license.
