53-1-104 . Release of arsonist -- notification of department of justice.
(1)Each of the following institutions, correctional facilities, or other facilities having the charge or custody of a person convicted of arson or of a person acquitted of arson on the ground of mental disease or disorder shall give written notification to the department of justice when the person is admitted or released by it:
(a)the Montana state hospital;
(b)a state prison;
(c)a Montana correctional facility housing youth; or
(d)a county or city detention facility.
(2)The notification must disclose:
(a)the name of the person;
(b)where the person is or will be located; and
(c)the type of fire the person was involved in.
