44-1-518 . Contribution for retirement -- length of service credit -- transfer of retirement contributions.
(1)When an officer receives compensation under 44-1-511 , the officer's contribution for retirement under 19-6-402 must be paid on the compensation received under 44-1-511 and the state's contribution for retirement under 19-6-404 must be paid on the compensation received under 44-1-511 .
(2)The time for which contributions are paid under 44-1-511 must be credited to the length of service computed for retirement purposes under 19-2-701 .
(3)When a disabled officer who qualifies for benefits under 44-1-511 accepts a transfer under 44-1-515 to a nonhighway patrol position within the department of justice that is covered under the Public Employees' Retirement System Act, all or any portion of the officer's length of service credited with the highway patrol officers' retirement system must be transferred to the public employees' retirement system according to 19-2-715 .
