20-9-223 . Cancellation of outstanding warrants -- duplication. The trustees of any school district shall be authorized to cancel any warrant that has been issued for at least 1 year. However, the contractual obligation of the district that has been satisfied by the issuance of the warrant shall not be terminated until the time specified by 27-2-202
(1)has elapsed. When a warrant has been canceled and the obligation has not terminated under 27-2-202 (1), the district may issue a duplicate warrant without the completion of an indemnity bond by the payee.
