§ 37-33-209. Acceptance and disposition of gifts and donations; annual report.

The director, with the approval of the executive director, may accept and use gifts and donations made unconditionally or otherwise for carrying out the purposes of the Rehabilitation Law, from either public or private sources. Gifts made under such conditions as in the judgment of the director, with the approval of the executive director, are proper and consistent with the provisions of that law may be so accepted and shall be held, invested, reinvested and used in accordance with the conditions of the gift.
All monies received as gifts or donations, except conditional gifts requiring other treatments, shall be deposited in the State Treasury and shall constitute a permanent fund to be called the “Special Fund for the Rehabilitation of Individuals with Disabilities through Special Disability Services” and shall be used by the office for such purposes. The director shall prepare and submit a report annually to the Legislature, through the executive director, setting forth the condition of rehabilitation of disabled persons in Mississippi, the expenditures made from state and federal funds in carrying out the provisions of that law or its purpose, and a detailed statement of all gifts and donations offered and accepted, together with the names of donors and the respective amounts prescribed by each and all the disbursements made therefrom.
