9.401. Believe in Gianna Day, November 13. — November thirteenth each year is hereby designated as "Believe in Gianna Day" in Missouri. The citizens of this state are encouraged to participate in appropriate events and activities to raise awareness for Sanfilippo syndrome, which causes Alzheimer's-like symptoms in children, and celebrate Gianna Wacker, a Missourian who has defied the odds by exceeding the life expectancy for children suffering from Sanfilippo syndrome.
