334.123. Organization of board — employment of executive director and employees — meetings — records as evidence — quorum. — The board shall elect its own president and secretary, each to serve for a term of one year, and shall maintain an office and employ an executive director and such other board personnel, as defined in section 324.001 , as the board in its discretion deems necessary. Without limiting the foregoing, the board is specifically authorized to obtain the services of specially trained and qualified persons or organizations to assist in conducting examinations of applicants for licenses and may employ legal counsel.
The executive director shall have the degree of bachelor of arts or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. The board shall meet annually in Jefferson City and at such other times and places as the members of the board may designate, and shall keep a record of its proceedings and shall cause a register to be kept of all applicants for certificates of licensure. The records and register shall be prima facie evidence of all matters recorded therein.
Four members of the board shall constitute a quorum, at least one of whom shall be a graduate of a professional school approved and accredited as reputable by the American Medical Association or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, and at least one of whom shall be a graduate of a professional school approved and accredited as reputable by the American Osteopathic Association.
