3.070. Revisor of statutes — appointment — duties — office. — The committee shall appoint and fix the compensation of a revisor of statutes and other attorneys and assistants necessary to the performance of its duties under this chapter. The compensation of the revisor of statutes and his or her assistants and expenses incurred in connection with the performance of their duties shall be paid from appropriations made for the committee on legislative research. The revisor of statutes shall be duly licensed to practice law in this state and serves at the pleasure of the committee.
The revisor of statutes shall perform all duties required by the committee in connection with its duties under this chapter. He or she shall conform to all regulations prescribed for the internal operation of the committee and shall render such assistance to the general assembly in connection with pending or proposed legislation as required by the committee or by any law imposing duties on the committee. He or she is subject also in all respects to the law governing other persons appointed or employed by the committee.
The division of facilities management, design and construction shall provide adequate office space in the capitol building for the revisor of statutes and the attorneys and employees associated with him or her.
