182.490. City library tax rate to be continued — construction of library laws. — The current library tax rate being levied in any city in which there shall be a municipal library district pursuant to the provisions hereof shall continue to be levied by or for the benefit of the municipal library district, and all of the provisions of sections 182.010 to 182.460 shall apply to the municipal library districts established by section 182.480 , except any such provision as may be inconsistent with, or repugnant to, the provisions of sections 182.480 to 182.510 .
Any reference to a city library shall mean a municipal library district, and any reference to the area or territory of a city shall mean the area or territory in a municipal library district, it being the intention of the legislature that sections 182.010 to 182.460 as applied to the municipal library districts created by section 182.480 shall be construed in harmony with sections 182.480 to 182.510 as far as the same may be practicable.
