168.409. Fees and costs for assessment center — funding for principal-administrators academy. — 1. The department of elementary and secondary education may charge a reasonable fee to cover the expenses and costs related to the services provided at the assessment center established under section 168.405 . Such fees shall be deposited in the excellence in education fund. Participant travel, living and incidental costs shall be at the expense of the participant, or may be reimbursed by a local school district.

(1)Funding for programming within the principal-administrators academy established in section 168.407 may include:
(a)Any federal funding made available that would support such programming;
(b)Moneys appropriated or deposited into the excellence in education fund established in section 160.268 ; or
(c)Up to five percent of any funding appropriated for payments authorized under sections 168.500 to 168.515 .
(2)The department, where applicable, may require matching funds be provided either by individuals participating in the programming or by the school districts that employ the individuals participating in the program.
