165.171. Audits, how provided — removal of appointed auditor. — The board of education in metropolitan districts shall determine and provide for the auditing of the accounts of the board and its various departments and operations, at the times and in the manner that the board deems necessary. The board in such districts may employ independent auditors to make the audit, or may appoint an auditor for this purpose and provide for the employees that the auditor's duties require.
The board may remove the auditor from office by vote of a majority of its members. Complete reports as to the audits shall be furnished to the members of the board and the superintendent of schools and shall be made available for inspection by any interested party.
