103.115. Consultants, former employees from certain state agencies, judges or teachers to be compensated for advice which will be paid toward medical benefits, amount. — Any former employee or any surviving spouse who is receiving retirement benefits from the Missouri state employees' retirement system or the transportation department employees' and highway patrol retirement system; or any former judge or surviving spouse of a former judge who is receiving retirement benefits pursuant to the provisions of sections 287.812 to 287.856 , or sections 476.450 to 476.686 ; or any former teacher or surviving spouse of a former teacher who elected to remain in the public school retirement system pursuant to the provisions of section 104.342 and who is receiving retirement benefits from the public school retirement system and is, or becomes, a member of the Missouri consolidated health care plan or an alternative delivery health care program provided by the board on behalf of the state shall, upon application with the board of trustees, be made, constituted, appointed and employed by the board as a special consultant on the problems of retiree health and, in addition to duties prescribed in section 104.610 , or any other law, and upon request of the board of trustees, give the board, orally or in writing, a short detailed statement of physical, medical and health problems affecting retirees.
As compensation for the extra duty imposed by this section, each such special consultant as defined above shall receive, in addition to all other compensation provided by law, an amount contributed toward medical benefits coverage provided by the above-referenced plan or plans as appropriated by law.
