730.527 Bail; setting date for examinations; recognizance in criminal cases.
Sec. 27.
If a warrant has been issued by a judge of the municipal court of any city affected by this act for a criminal offense, the person charged with that offense may be arraigned by any judge of that municipal court. The judge may fix the amount of bail or let the person to bail, or both, and set a date for the examination provided by law before the judge who signed the warrant. If the person charged with the offense waives examination, the judge may fix the amount of bail or let the person to bail, or both, and bind the person to appear before the circuit court of the county or any court having jurisdiction of that cause for trial.
If a warrant has been issued by a municipal judge for an offense against the laws of this state and the person charged has been arraigned and the amount of bail has been set, a recognizance for the appearance of the person charged to answer for that offense may be taken and entered into by any clerk or deputy clerk of that court.
