431.321 Police, fire, and traffic protection.
Sec. 21.
Local units of government participating in the distribution of funds under section 17(4) shall provide for adequate police, fire, and traffic protection of persons and property at and near each race meet, including areas where occupational licenses are required. Each local unit of government participating in the distribution of funds under this act shall show by a statement submitted annually on February 1 of each year to the racing commissioner the amounts of funds received and shall detail the expenditure of those amounts during the previous calendar year. The racing commissioner shall report annually to the governor and the legislature regarding these statements.
