388.1618a Grant funds to be expended by end of fiscal year; failure of grant recipient to expend funds; report; return of unexpended funds.
Sec. 18a.
Except as otherwise provided in this article, grant funds awarded and allotted to a district, intermediate district, or other entity, unless otherwise specified in this article, must be expended by the grant recipient before the end of the fiscal year immediately following the fiscal year in which the funds are received. Except as otherwise provided in this article, if a grant recipient does not expend the funds received under this article before the end of the fiscal year in which the funds are received, the grant recipient shall submit a report to the department not later than November 1 after the fiscal year in which the funds are received indicating whether it expects to expend those funds during the fiscal year in which the report is submitted.
Except as otherwise provided in this article, a recipient of a grant shall return any unexpended grant funds to the department in the manner prescribed by the department not later than September 30 after the fiscal year in which the funds are received.
