324.78104 Waterways commission; director; appointment; qualifications; term; compensation; duties; assistants; salaries; expenses.
Sec. 78104.
There is established the office of administrative director of the commission. The director qualified by a record of experience in connection with boating shall be appointed by the commission to serve for an indefinite term, during his or her efficient, honest, and businesslike execution of his or her duties. He or she shall receive such compensation as the commission may determine, not in excess of $8,400.00, and shall be reimbursed for all traveling and other expenses incurred by him or her in the discharge of his or her official duties.
The director shall be charged with the administration of this part in accordance with the policies established by the commission. The department, upon recommendation of the director, subject to the approval of the commission, may employ such assistants, and make such expenditures as may be necessary in implementing this part related to the powers and duties of the commission. The salaries of all employees, and the necessary expenses while traveling in performing any of their duties, shall be paid in the same manner as the salaries and expenses of other state employees are paid.
