280.279 Special assessments; payment in full; notice to commissioner; deficiency assessment.
Sec. 279.
Any person liable to the payment of special assessments for benefits received from the construction of a drain hereunder may pay the same in full with interest to date at any time, subject to the right of reassessment in case of deficiency as herein provided. The foregoing right of prepayment shall extend to the state or any political subdivision thereof, assessed at large for a portion of the cost of a drain. Such payment may be made to the township treasurer, who shall give his receipt therefor and who shall transmit the same to the county treasurer.
The latter official shall, on receipt of the same, give notice to the commissioner, who shall make the necessary changes in the rolls covering subsequent installments.
