Sec. 801f.
(1)The owner of a moped shall notify the secretary of state if the moped is destroyed or abandoned within 15 days after its destruction or abandonment. The secretary of state shall cancel the certificate and enter that fact in the records of the secretary of state.
(2)The owner of a moped shall notify the secretary of state upon a change of address. The new address shall be recorded by the secretary of state and a certificate of registration bearing that information shall be returned to the owner.
(3)The transferee of a moped, within 15 days after acquiring it, shall make application to the secretary of state for transfer of the certificate of registration issued to the moped, giving the transferee's name, address, and the number of the moped and pay to the secretary of state a transfer fee of $10.00. A registration fee shall not be assessed if the transferred registration would have remained valid for 2 or more years. Upon receipt of the application and fees, the secretary of state shall transfer the certificate of registration issued for the moped to the new owner. The registration shall be valid for 3 registration years. Unless the application is made and the fee paid within 15 days, the moped shall be considered to be without certificate of registration and a person shall not operate the moped until a certificate is issued.
(4)If a certificate of registration is lost, mutilated, or becomes illegible, the owner of a moped shall obtain a duplicate of the certificate upon application and payment of a fee of $2.00.
