1. Proceedings on or after September 1, 2019. This Part applies to guardianship and protective proceedings begun on or after September 1, 2019.

2. Proceedings before September 1, 2019. Subparts 1 and 3 and sections 5‑641 and 5‑642 apply to proceedings begun before September 1, 2019, regardless of whether a guardianship or protective order has been issued.
