Section 5.
(a)Each tourism destination marketing district shall be governed by a management entity's tourism destination marketing district committee to oversee its operations and ensure the implementation of the tourism destination marketing district plan. The management entity and its tourism destination marketing district committee shall be set forth in the petition and tourism destination marketing district plan. A majority of the membership of the tourism destination marketing district committee shall be lodging business owners paying the tourism destination marketing district assessment.
(b)A tourism destination marketing district plan shall, within the limitations described in section 9, be updated at least once every 5 years by the tourism destination marketing district committee, and a copy thereof shall be mailed or delivered to each tourism destination marketing district member and shall file a copy of such update with the municipal governing body and the commissioner.
