Section 4T. A position shall be established at the manager level under the supervision of the director of diversity and equal opportunity with the responsibility to promote diversity and equal opportunity in civil service employment throughout the commonwealth. The manager of civil service diversity, equity and inclusion shall be responsible for:
(i)overseeing initiatives and addressing issues involving diversity, equity and inclusion in public safety employment, with a particular focus on civil service municipalities and municipalities that have left the civil service system; and
(ii)providing support to the commission on recruitment, hiring and retention of municipal police officers and firefighters in the commonwealth established by section 78 of chapter 31.
