§2983. Preservation of rights
Any person who has made a transfer, grant, sale or mortgage affecting land so described, their heirs or assigns, whose rights may be affected hereby, shall have a period of one year from July 30, 1958 within which to preserve and protect such rights, by
(1)filing suit in each parish where such land is situated, asserting such rights, or
(2)by recording a notarized declaration asserting such rights in the conveyance records of each parish where such land is situated within such one year period; and in case neither said method of preserving such rights is followed within one year from July 30, 1958, said rights shall be forever barred.
