§9097. Sports wagering distributor; permit; fees
A.(1) The corporation may issue a sports wagering distributor permit to any suitable business or legal entity that markets, buys, sells, leases, services, or repairs sports wagering mechanisms in this state. No person shall market, buy, sell, lease, service, or repair a sports wagering mechanism without a valid permit.
(2)Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph
(1)of this Subsection, only distributors domiciled in Louisiana shall be issued a permit for the services of collection and repair of sports wagering mechanisms.
B. Any contract between the corporation and a sports wagering distributor shall provide for access to the corporation of any information maintained by the distributor for verification of compliance with this Chapter.
C. The initial application fee for a sports wagering distributor permit shall be five thousand dollars and shall be nonrefundable. The initial application fee shall be submitted to the corporation at the time of application.
D. The permit fee for a sports wagering distributor permit issued pursuant to this Section shall be two thousand five hundred dollars. The permit shall be for a term of five years. The permit fee shall be submitted to the corporation on the anniversary date of the issuance of the permit every five years. The first permit payment shall be submitted to the corporation at the time of application.
E. The corporation shall adopt written policies and rules to guarantee that multiple distributors and vendors shall contract with the operator to provide maximum opportunities for economic development.
